The drive (self-propulsion) reducer is used as a complete self-propulsion unit in ZM-60A grain throwers and their modifications, as well as in OVS-25 type machines.

The self-propulsion mechanism (drive reducer) installed on ZM-60A and OVS-25 is an improved version designed to increase the machine's maneuverability and ease of operation. Unlike the basic single-speed model, this unit is a cylindrical two-stage reducer with an integrated gear-shifting mechanism. It performs the following tasks:

1. Providing Movement Reducing the rotational speed from the drive and transmitting high torque to the wheels.
2. Speed Selection Allows the operator to select two working travel speeds using a special lever, adapting the movement speed to the working conditions.
3. Reverse Backward movement is provided by reversing the drive motor (controlled from the console).
4. Easier Turning It is equipped with dog clutches on the output half-shafts, which allow disconnecting the drive to one of the wheels. This significantly reduces the turning radius and facilitates maneuvering the machine almost on the spot.
