The safety clutch and three-groove pulley (ZP 02.050 + ZA 02.101A) are used in the drive of the loading conveyor (ZP 02.000) for ZM-60, ZM-60A grain throwers and their modifications. As an assembly, this unit performs two functions:

• Torque Transmission The pulley (ZA 02.101A) receives rotation from the electric motor via a belt drive. Since it is rigidly connected to the clutch, the clutch, in turn, transmits this motion to the drive shaft of the loading conveyor, activating the scraper chain.

• Overload Protection In the event of the conveyor's scraper chain jamming, the friction discs of the clutch (ZP 02.050) begin to slip, which instantly disconnects the motor and gearbox from the blocked mechanism. This acts as a mechanical fuse, preventing the breakdown of other expensive machine components - shafts, gearboxes, chains, or the electric motor.

Design Features of the Grain Thrower's Clutch and Pulley

The ZA 02.101A pulley is a cast iron three-groove pulley with a diameter of 450 (or 460) mm. It has 5 holes for mounting to the clutch and lightening holes on the disc.

The ZP 02.050 safety clutch is a more complex part, which includes a hub, a drive sprocket, friction linings, bushings, and pressure plates compressed by springs. The compression force of the springs regulates the torque at which the clutch slips.
