Elevator Buckets (Metal, Polymer) from the Manufacturer
Elevator buckets are the primary working components of a bucket elevator (leg), responsible for the efficient scooping, lifting, and discharging of grain or other bulk materials. The productivity of the entire line depends on the correct bucket geometry; if the shape is selected incorrectly, part of the product will fall back down the shaft ("backlegging") or fail to discharge properly at the elevator head. Furthermore, under intensive operating conditions, elevator buckets are subjected to severe loads - abrasive friction, impacts against foreign objects, and vibration. The use of low-quality products leads to rapid wear of the lip (reducing usable capacity), body deformation, and metal tearing at the belt attachment points. Such breakdowns require constant monitoring and part replacement, and in some cases, threaten an emergency shutdown of the elevator, damage to the elevator trunking, and expensive replacement of the belt itself.
Zavod Moroza designs and develops elevator buckets taking all these risk factors into account. We offer a full range of products for transporting grain crops, seeds, flour, compound feeds, and bran. As a manufacturer, we are not limited by templates and produce elevator buckets of any size, shape, and material, realizing even complex non-standard projects according to your drawings. Our engineers reinforce critical zones and select the optimal metal thickness and geometry, which guarantees stable productivity and increases service life several times over without the risk of shape loss.
Types and Production Technologies of Elevator Buckets
The scale and specific tasks of our clients vary within a wide range - from seasonal work on small farms to extreme 24/7 loading regimes at powerful port terminals. Moreover, our many years of production experience prove that a universal solution does not exist - what works well for light crops may prove ineffective for heavy or sticky products. That is why the engineering department at Zavod Moroza is not limited to a single methodology but has introduced three different technological lines into serial production. This allows us to cover needs of any volume and complexity, offering the optimal design for specific operating conditions:
- Deep-Pressed (Seamless) Buckets
Manufactured by deep pressing from a single sheet of metal. The main advantage is the absence of seams and smooth rounded corners (radii). This geometry is ideally suited for "sticky" and difficult-to-flow cargoes (flour, meal, bran), ensuring complete discharge without product residue in "dead zones". - Fabricated Buckets ("Envelope" Technology)
For medium and large-sized items, we apply a time-tested technology of complex folding known as the "Envelope" design. Its essence lies in the absence of weld seams in the most highly stressed zones, which eliminates the risk of fatigue cracks forming along the seam under constant vibration and strong dynamic impacts, significantly extending the service life of the product on high-capacity elevators. - Polymer Buckets
A modern technological alternative to metal. Thanks to their low weight, such products significantly reduce the load on the belt and traction mechanisms, extending their resource. Polymer material is not subject to corrosion, meets strict explosion safety requirements (non-sparking upon impact), and, thanks to the elasticity of the lip, minimizes grain damage during scooping.
Thanks to this choice of technologies, we create specialized solutions that take into account the physical properties of a specific material, the specifics of your facility, and real operational loads. This ensures a consistently high efficiency of the elevator on objects of any scale - from farm grain cleaning complexes (ZAV) and processing lines to industrial silos and port terminals.
Constructive Variations of Elevator Buckets for Specific Tasks
A standard solution is not always capable of satisfying the requirements of industrial facilities where key factors are ultra-high productivity, work with heavy materials, or the need for modernization without stopping production. Therefore, in our catalog, in addition to basic models, specialized engineering modifications are presented:
- Reinforced Buckets (Heavy Duty)
Designed for intensive loads where ordinary metal quickly deforms. They feature increased wall thickness (up to 2-3 mm) and the presence of welded plates or stiffening ribs in the attachment zones. This is critically important for large-scale models, where, for example, our 390 mm wide bucket has a net weight of 2.8 kg and a useful capacity of over 7.5 liters, requiring uncompromising body strength to support such weight. - Bottomless Buckets
Today, this is the most effective solution for "boosting" the productivity of existing elevators. Constructively, they completely repeat the profile of a standard bucket but do not have a bottom wall. Such items are installed on the belt in a dense group and are closed off at the bottom by a standard bucket, forming a kind of "blind tunnel" that allows grain to be moved not in separate portions but as a continuous column. The result is an increase in elevator throughput by 1.5-2 times without replacing the shaft or increasing the belt speed. - Buckets with Partitions
Special models with internal baffles used to provide additional structural rigidity to extra-wide buckets, preventing the front lip from bending when scooping dense loads.
Thanks to these modifications, we help customers unlock the hidden potential of their equipment and convert it into a real financial result. A significant increase in transshipment tonnage solely through elevator buckets without capital reconstruction of the complex allows for saving significant funds on the construction of new lines, while the uninterrupted operation of reinforced components ensures protection against profitable-killing emergency downtime during the peak season. This is a direct path to increasing the general profitability of the elevator and minimizing the payback period of modernization, which is a decisive factor in your enterprise's competitiveness in modern market conditions.
Elevator Buckets - Main Production Materials and Anti-Corrosion Protection
Although polymer composites are confidently occupying their niche, classic steel elevator buckets remain the undisputed No. 1 standard for the absolute majority of elevators. The reason is simple - it is the best combination of structural rigidity, impact toughness, and affordable price, where metal does not "flex" under weight, does not crack in the frost, and withstands extreme jerks.
Depending on the specifics of your product, we offer two options for steel bucket execution:
- Carbon Steel (Black Metal) - This is the main working material for transporting raw grain, sunflower seeds, or compound feeds. Such elevator buckets have the highest mechanical strength, but it is worth remembering the specifics of their anti-corrosion protection. A layer of primer or paint is usually applied to them exclusively for metal conservation during logistics and storage; therefore, this reliable economy solution is best suited for industrial raw material transshipment lines where there are no strict requirements for food purity.
- Galvanized Steel - This is the only standard today for working with wet grain, flour, sugar, or other food products. The zinc coating is applied by galvanic or hot-dip methods and is part of the metal structure, so it does not flake off (unlike paint), guaranteeing the absence of rust and foreign impurities in your product throughout the entire service life.
The material of execution directly affects the purity of the batch at the shipment stage. The correct choice of steel for elevator buckets allows preserving the commercial condition of the product, eliminating risks of quality reduction due to unwanted impurities. We will fulfill your order according to the provided specification, guaranteeing that the finished products will fully comply with the sanitary and operational standards of your facility.
Technical Parameters and Our Production Capabilities
The factory's production capacities allow adapting buckets for any type of traction elements, whether standard BKNL belts or powerful rubber-textile belts. A critically important stage of manufacturing is the precise positioning of mounting holes. We design them strictly according to the geometry of special elevator bolts, which guarantees monolithic fixation on the belt and makes twisting or tearing off of the bucket impossible even at peak loads.
The main size range of our elevator bucket catalog:
- Bucket Width (B) - from 100 mm to 390 mm (including standard sizes 110, 125, 135, 160, 180, 260, 280 mm)
- Bucket Projection (A) - from 80 mm to 170 mm
- Useful Capacity - from 0.61 L to 8.5 L (manufacturing of larger volumes upon request is possible)
- Mounting Scheme - 2, 3, or 4 holes (depending on the product width)
- Center-to-Center Hole Spacing - standard (45, 60, 90 mm) or individual according to your drawing
Operational assurance of uninterrupted elevator work during the season is our priority, which is why a strategic stock of unified elevator bucket models is constantly maintained at Zavod Moroza's warehouse terminals for instantly covering emergency needs. However, the availability of finished products is only a part of our capabilities, as the main strength of the enterprise lies in the flexibility of our own production lines, capable of realizing any technical task in a matter of days. We understand that every elevator has its own "character" and wear specifics, so our engineering and design department is not limited to blindly copying old samples but conducts a detailed analysis of the equipment if necessary. Such an approach allows us to offer modernization solutions where changing the geometry or type of bucket reveals a hidden productivity reserve of the transport system without replacing motors or gearboxes. High-precision metalworking equipment guarantees ideal repeatability of dimensions and mounting hole coordinates throughout the entire batch, eliminating problems with belt balancing and vibrations at startup. Our team of technologists is also ready to take responsibility for the mathematical calculation of the necessary capacity and installation spacing, turning a standard purchase of spare parts into a full-fledged stage of technical improvement for your enterprise. We know the cost of downtime, so streamlined logistics allow delivering the order directly to the site in the shortest possible time.
