The ZP 01.612 spring is the main power and resilient element of the ZP 01.140 semi-automatic band brake system, which comes standard on classic ZM-60 and ZM-60A series grain loaders. In the overall kinematic scheme of the trimmer pivoting frame locking mechanism, this part performs an important function: it creates the constant working pressure necessary to tightly clamp the brake band around the drum, preventing spontaneous turning of the massive structure under the influence of vibrations or the reaction of the grain stream.
Structurally and spatially, the spring is mounted on the smooth rod of the ZP 01.160 guide rod. On one side, it rests against the fork (eyelet) of the rod itself, which is movably connected to the ZP 01.150 eccentric lever, and on the other side, its support base is the ZP 01.608 spherical washer resting on the fixed plane of the supporting frame. Since the trimmer brake operates on a "normally closed" engineering principle, in its standard state the spring is in the working position, exerting constant pressure. It constantly pushes the rod, which through the lever creates a rigid tension of the ZP 01.240 band.
When the operator needs to change the direction of grain discharge, they pull the lever handle to the right, overcoming the force resistance of this very spring. It compresses, allowing the lever to feed the band forward and create the necessary slack for free rotation of the pivoting frame. Given the cyclical nature of its operation, strict requirements for elasticity and metal fatigue resistance are imposed on this part, as the reliability of fixing the trimmer on the threshing floor directly depends on its ability to stably maintain tension and quickly return the mechanism to its initial closed position.
