ZP 01.360 Reverse Gear Sprocket for Grain Thrower

The ZP 01.360 sprocket is a key component of the ZP 01.220 running gear chain drive, utilized in classic serial grain throwers (ZM-60) featuring an asymmetric reverse drive layout. The component is installed on the fixed half-axle (the ZP 01.627 shaft) on the opposite side from the disengagement clutch and is responsible for continuously transmitting torque from the self-propelled gearbox directly to the driving wheel hub.

Unlike the adjacent ZP 01.340 sprocket (which mounts onto the clutch shaft via a shear safety pin), the ZP 01.360 sprocket is designed for a permanent, rigid connection. To achieve this, a keyway is milled into its inner hub, which pairs with a prismatic key (8x7 mm) to secure a rigid fit on the half-axle. Additionally, a threaded port for an M10 set screw is provided in the sprocket hub body—this locks the key within the keyway and prevents unintended longitudinal shifting of the sprocket along the shaft caused by vibrations during operation across the threshing floor.

Technical Specifications of the ZP 01.360 Sprocket

  • Catalog number: ZP 01.360
  • Application: ZM-60 (classic models with asymmetric drive)
  • Installation assembly: Rear drive ZP 01.220 (blind shaft ZP 01.627)
  • Number of teeth (Z): 25 teeth
  • Chain pitch (t): 19.05 mm (for PRL-19.05 roller chain)
  • Bore diameter: 30 mm
  • Shaft fixation method: 8x7 mm prismatic key + M10 set screw
  • Part weight: 2.02 kg
  • Quantity per assembly: 1 pc. (on classic asymmetric running gear)

The 25-tooth rim featuring a 19.05 mm pitch is manufactured from high-strength carbon steel, guaranteeing exceptional tooth wear resistance when operating with enclosed or open PRL-19.05 drive chains. The rim geometry ensures smooth chain engagement without jerking or bushing climbing. The 30 mm internal bore with a precise keyway is designed for rigid mounting onto the ZP 01.627 shaft—the 8x7 mm key connection transfers full torque from the self-propelled chain drive to the half-axle, withstanding peak traction loads without slipping. The M10 locking set screw threaded into the sprocket hub presses against the key, eliminating longitudinal play and ensuring the sprocket remains strictly aligned in the same plane as the self-propelled gearbox output sprocket to prevent chain skewing.

Associated Parts for the ZP 01.360 Sprocket

When ordering or inspecting the ZP 01.360 drive sprocket assembly, the following associated components must be checked:

  • Reverse shaft ZP 01.627
  • Prismatic key 8x7 mm
  • Set screw M10x25
  • Drive chain PRL-19.05
  • Wheel hub ZM 01.104 (blind cam-free hub)
  • Support bearings 11206 in H 026.058 cast-iron housings

The primary difference between the two ZM-60 reverse sprockets lies in their mounting design: while the left ZP 01.340 sprocket features a smooth fit and acts as a "fuse" via the ZP 01.646 shear pin, the right ZP 01.360 sprocket provides a strictly rigid, fixed drive through a key and set screw.

During prolonged operation, vibrations and operational jerks can loosen the M10 set screw, leading to wear on the keyway in both the sprocket and the ZP 01.627 shaft. Consequently, many farming operations during overhauls decide to abandon this asymmetric configuration, completely replacing obsolete half-axles with a modern symmetric layout featuring two jaw disengagement clutches.

Buying the ZP 01.360 Reverse Sprocket from Zavod Moroza

The specialists at Zavod Moroza offer professional engineering solutions for any repair scenario. We manufacture serial ZP 01.360 sprockets with precisely calibrated tooth geometry and strict keyway tolerances according to original blueprints, available for purchase for classic grain throwers. Furthermore, if you wish to upgrade your grain thrower to a modern symmetric running system, our engineers can supply individual parts (sprockets, keys, shafts) or deliver a fully pre-assembled turnkey reverse drive unit!
