Auger Spiral Ø 200 mm with 2 mm Thickness
Screw conveyors are the primary technological solution for the continuous transportation, dosing, and mixing of bulk, viscous, and fine-fraction materials. Due to their high productivity and relatively compact design, they are widely used in grain elevators, compound feed production lines, construction mix plants, and solid fuel supply systems. The main task of such a mechanism is to ensure a stable, uniform, and predictable movement of mass in a given direction without pulsations, blockages, or loss of performance.
The key working organ of any screw conveyor is the auger spiral, which directly moves the material and takes on the main traction and abrasive load. The smoothness of raw material flow, the load on bearing units, and the overall operational resource of the unit depend on the spatial accuracy of its geometry. To ensure that the finished auger spiral meets the strict requirements of industrial operation, we design it as a reliable modular construction made of finished fragments, moving away from the technology of continuous metal stretching by rollers. The auger spiral from the Zavod Moroza is assembled from individual, geometrically verified segments manufactured using the method of step-by-step matrix forming (spatial bending) on hydraulic equipment.
Traditional continuous-drawn winding has its advantages in terms of mass production speed for light operating conditions; however, for loaded lines, it has significant engineering limitations. During continuous rolling, the metal inevitably stretches and thins at the outer radius, losing its resistance to abrasion. Furthermore, a solid part is difficult to balance perfectly on a long shaft, and in the case of local damage (e.g., in the loading zone), the entire working organ must be replaced. Given this, the most justified and cost-effective solution for industrial conveyors is a modular construction made of flights. Individual sections of the auger spiral maintain the original thickness and strength of the metal at the working edge, provide absolute pitch precision during welding, and allow for the quick replacement of only damaged spiral fragments without complete disassembly of the conveyor.
Possibility of Local Auger Spiral Repair
In real industrial conditions, any auger spiral wears extremely unevenly. Up to 80% of the abrasive load is always concentrated at the raw material drop points - under loading hoppers, inlets, and discharge nodes. If the conveyor is equipped with a continuous-drawn part, critical wear of even the first three flights makes the further operation of the entire shaft inefficient or hazardous. In such cases, the enterprise is forced to perform a complex disassembly of a multi-meter conveyor and replace the entire working organ, despite the fact that most of its length shows no signs of wear.
The use of a modular design fundamentally changes the approach to equipment maintenance. If your auger spiral is assembled from individual segments, the repair crew solves the problem locally - worn or damaged flights are simply cut from the central axis and replaced with new ones, which can often be done without even fully removing the shaft from the conveyor housing. This method reduces line downtime from several days to a few hours. Furthermore, keeping a set of spare segments in stock for rapid replacement is significantly cheaper and more rational than financing and storing bulky multi-meter components.
Pitch Precision and Absence of Radial Shaft Runout
The assembly process of a screw conveyor requires a perfect fit of the inner edge of the blade to the central supporting pipe. If the auger spiral is formed by continuous rolling, internal metal stresses often lead to pitch deformation. During welding, such a part must be forcibly pressed to the axis, which creates residual thermal and mechanical stresses that attempt to warp the central shaft and create a constant tearing force on the weld seams, as the stressed metal naturally seeks to straighten out. Over time, this leads to fatigue cracks. As a result, radial runout occurs during rotation, causing vibration of the entire housing and accelerated destruction of bearing units. A modular construction made of matrix segments completely solves this problem, as each fragment of the auger spiral has a geometrically correct pitch, is mounted on the shaft without force, and allows for the maintenance of perfect initial balancing of the transport line.
Strict control of spatial geometry is a mandatory technical standard for our enterprise's entire product range, and this precision is maintained regardless of dimensions: whether it is a basic auger spiral with a diameter of 200 mm and a thickness of 2 mm for light agricultural tasks or more massive units for heavy industry. The production capacities of the Zavod Moroza are not limited to standard catalog sizes. We design and manufacture segments of any non-standard parameters for specific technical tasks - with left or right spiral directions, with variable pitch, and for maximum technological dimensions - for example, with an outer diameter of 500 mm and sheet metal thickness up to 16 mm.
We Do Everything - From Spiral Fragments to Finished Conveyors
Zavod Moroza offers a flexible approach to configuring transport equipment. Depending on your enterprise's current tasks, you can order the required number of matrix segments to independently assemble an auger spiral of a specified length directly on-site during a local repair. An alternative and often more rational solution for a major line update is ordering a fully finished working organ - professionally welded onto the central shaft, verified for spatial geometry, and balanced at our production facilities.
Understanding the specifics of industrial installation work, we are not limited to the production of working blades alone. By contacting us, you gain the opportunity to equip your conveyor "turnkey" - our plant manufactures and supplies supporting pipes of the required diameter, U-shaped housing troughs, as well as end and intermediate bearing supports. Obtaining all related units from a single manufacturer guarantees their strict dimensional compatibility and eliminates problems during part alignment. If necessary, we will fully take over the assembly processes and ship a finished screw conveyor to your enterprise, which only needs to be mounted on the line and connected.
To calculate the cost and manufacturing timeframe, contact our engineering department in any convenient way. You can provide us with ready-made sketches or a technical assignment, or take an easier path - simply call us, state your needs, and our specialists will work with you to complete a questionnaire, recording all parameters. Experts will process your data, optimize the thickness and pitch of the flight for specific operational loads if necessary, and ensure the prompt shipment of parts or the finished aggregate to your site.
