The structural nature of this assembly unit stems from the asymmetric drive layout utilized specifically on single-speed ZM-60 machines featuring a gearbox with an internal differential. Unlike the ZM-60A (which featured a two-speed gearbox without a differential and standardly employed two identical half-axles with disengagement mechanisms), the classic ZM-60 relied on uncoupling the drive solely on the left side to maneuver or relocate the machine.
