When shifting the machine into a transport or towed state, the operator pulls the half-clutch backward using the convenient cast lever-handles, overcoming the resistance of the heavy-duty spring, at which point the spring-loaded working pin of the ZP 01.631 latch snaps into the shaft spherical pocket, rigidly locking the half-clutch in the disengaged state. The driving wheel transitions into free sliding mode on the cermet bushings, allowing the grain thrower to be safely towed while entirely eliminating gear wear within the self-propelled gearbox.
The upgraded latch featuring a convenient metal ring significantly simplifies running gear unlocking under field conditions. Instead of the classic button, which frequently slipped from fingers when operating in dusty or greasy environments, this new safety mechanism features a more massive steel ring-making it easy to grasp and pull upward even while wearing thick work gloves. Two thickened special ZM 01.435 washers form a reliable bearing surface for the heavy-duty spring, preventing distortion or axial shifting. In turn, the 30 ZM 01.623 spacer ring allows axial technological clearances on the ZP 01.625 shaft to be set with high precision, completely blocking parasitic backlash and reliably protecting the internal hub cavities and working bushing surfaces from fine abrasive dust and debris from the threshing floor.
The reinforced flange of the ZM 01.180 hub with a centering shoulder guarantees geometrically precise wheel disk seating. Thanks to the centering projection on the flange, the wheel seats perfectly flush, preventing "figure-eight" wobble during heavy machine maneuvers. Mounting holes on the square flange are fully universal, permitting seamless mounting of both standard 400 mm rubber-tired wheels and large 500 mm wheels, such as those from OVS-25 grain cleaners.
