ZP 01.360 Reverse Sprocket (Upgraded, Keyed Design)
The ZP 01.360 reverse sprocket (upgraded version) is a modernized element of the ZP 01.220 running gear chain drive, specifically engineered for modern ZM-60U and ZM-90U grain thrower series and other wheeled grain loaders.
Within the self-propelled kinematic layout, the sprocket mounts directly onto the 30 mm diameter steel drive half-axles, where it receives torque from the self-propelled gearbox via a roller chain and transfers it further to the driving wheel of the machine.
The transition to a modern symmetric reverse layout by our designers has finalized the unification of drive components-both sides of the bridge now utilize identical, highly reliable keyed ZP 01.360 sprockets, simplifying transmission maintenance and entirely freeing farmers from the vulnerable components of legacy asymmetric designs.
Engineering Advantages and Design Modifications of the ZP 01.360 Sprocket
In new models of grain cleaning machinery from Zavod Moroza, we have revised the fastening and force transmission concept within the reverse drive chain, endowing the upgraded ZP 01.360 sprocket with several critical enhancements:
1. Elimination of the Shear Pin in Favor of a Rigid Keyed Connection
The classic reverse scheme involved installing the ZP 01.340 sprocket onto a smooth shaft surface, where it was secured by a thin ZP 01.646 safety pin. In practice, this technical solution caused constant frustration for farmers-under minor overloads when starting the grain thrower, the pins would shear, operations would halt, and the mounting holes in both the sprocket and shaft would rapidly wear into an oval shape. The upgraded ZM 01.360 sprocket implements a rigid, backlash-free fit: an exact keyway for an 8x7 mm prismatic key is milled into the internal bore of the hub, enabling maximum torque transfer without the slightest slip or runout, guaranteeing stable machine travel across any threshing floor surface.
2. Secure Keyed and Locking Fastening Without Risk of Displacement
In legacy asymmetric designs, retaining the ZP 01.340 sprocket on the shaft relied on safety pins and specialized grooves for spring retaining rings. In practice, due to constant operational vibrations and harsh jolts, these spring rings frequently dislodged, the pin would be lost, and the sprocket itself would begin to slide and wander freely along the half-axle. The modern symmetric solution based on the ZP 01.360 sprocket completely eliminates this issue-instead of vulnerable pins, it employs a rigid fit onto an 8x7 mm prismatic key, reliably transferring full torque from the self-propelled gearbox. To eliminate axial play, a threaded port for an M8 set screw is provided within the sprocket hub body, tightly clamping the key in its slot and entirely blocking the slightest longitudinal displacement of the component during travel. The sprocket consistently remains within one strictly defined working plane, guaranteeing ideal drive alignment and smooth chain drive operation.
3. Reinforced Metal Construction
The foundation of the component is a thick-walled steel sleeve (tube) welded to a precision-cut toothed rim-this configuration establishes a wide and stable seating base for the sprocket on the half-axle shaft. The wide support fully compensates for lateral forces generated by roller chain tension, preventing the sprocket from tilting or binding under stress, which ensures perfect perpendicularity of the working rim relative to the shaft rotation axis and entirely eliminates the risk of end wobble ("figure-eights") during traction transfer. Furthermore, the increased seating length uniformly distributes torque across the entire length of the prismatic key, robustly protecting the keyways on both the shaft and inside the sprocket from crushing and deformation during sudden self-propelled startups.
4. Ideal Tooth Profile and Hardening
The 25-tooth gear rim is fabricated on CNC gear-hobbing machines from quality structural steel. The geometry of every tooth is verified to fractions of a millimeter, ensuring smooth, soft engagement with the rollers of the PRL-19.05 chain. The chain settles smoothly into the recesses without jerking, climbing over tips, or causing premature wear on the drive links.

Practical Advice on Compatibility and Upgrading Older Models
If you are executing a major overhaul or wish to convert your old asymmetric ZM-60 running gear featuring a weak pin drive to a reliable upgraded scheme, please note several essential factors:
- The new ZP 01.360 sprocket features an internal keyway broached for an 8x7 mm key, whereas classic older left ZP 01.625 shafts featured smooth seating zones for the ZP 01.646 pin. To install the upgraded keyed sprocket, you will either need to mill a keyway into your old shaft independently or order a new ZP 01.625 shaft from us featuring factory-ready keyways.
- Although the new sprocket shares identical tooth parameters (Z=25, t=19.05 mm), during a comprehensive overhaul of the assembly, we strongly recommend installing a new PRL-19.05 drive roller chain. Operating a precise new gear rim with an old, stretched chain can lead to accelerated tooth profile wear, jerkiness, and vibration.
Buying the ZP 01.360 Sprocket from Zavod Moroza
Zavod Moroza guarantees flawless quality and manufacturing precision for every component. Our in-house machining and welding production enables precise control over hub-to-sprocket concentricity, keyway depth, and working tooth hardening quality. Our ZP 01.360 sprockets are engineered for multi-season intensive operations under heavy alternating loads within dusty environments.
Standardly, we supply the ZP 01.360 sprocket as an independent standalone part, but should you require a complete installation hardware kit, we can readily supplement the component with a matching 8x7x35 mm prismatic key, set screw, and nut. For complete assembly of the updated unit, we also recommend purchasing our branded ZP 01.625 reverse shaft-manufactured according to the modern symmetric reverse layout, it already incorporates all required precise factory keyways for the sprocket key, half-clutch key, and cotter pin holes. Purchasing a "shaft + sprocket" pair from a single manufacturer ensures flawless backlash-free seating and spares you from any workshop locksmith modifications or metal milling on the farm.
Simply call our technical specialists! We will assist in navigating the structural nuances of your specific grain thrower model, verify seating dimensions free of charge, and supplement your order with compatible upgraded shafts, PRL-19.05 chains, or new cam hubs if needed.
