Rotary Harrow 3 meters BR-3
The mounted rotary harrow BR-3 from Zavod Moroza is a specialized 3-meter implement for the continuous tillage of row crops (corn, sunflower), cereals, and legumes. This model is designed specifically for small and medium-sized farms, allowing the use of effective rotary harrowing technology with small traction class tractors (from 40 hp). The main agrotechnical tasks of the implement are:
- Soil aeration
High-quality crumbling of the surface crust to ensure oxygen access to the root system, which stimulates plant development. - Weed control
Mechanical destruction of 95% to 100% of weed seedlings at the "white thread" stage. - Moisture conservation
Creation of a soil mulch layer that interrupts capillaries and stops moisture evaporation. - Work on winter crops
Breaking up the dense ice crust in early spring to prevent crop damping-off.
Unlike classic tine harrows, the BR-3 uses needle wheels with thoughtfully shaped teeth that create a "micro-explosion" effect - intensive soil loosening, during which damage to the cultivated plant does not exceed 1% (provided agrotechnical timing is observed). The design is based on a reliable frame made of reinforced profile pipe 140x140x8 mm (similar to older models), which guarantees exceptional strength. A feature of the model is the presence of mounting "ears", which allow upgrading the harrow in the future by installing additional wings to increase the working width. The implement is ideal for tractors like T-40, UMZ, and MTZ-80.
Unique tooth geometry and agronomic effect of Zavod Moroza implements
The high efficiency of the BR-3 harrow, as well as other models of our production, is due to the specific shape of the working organ - a cast spade-tooth. Unlike a conventional spike, this tooth enters the soil at a right angle and exits with a twist, creating a local "micro-explosion" effect, which in turn performs the following functions:
1. Aeration with biological nitrogen activation
The upper compacted crust is completely destroyed, which quickly saturates the upper soil layer with oxygen. As a result, oxygen access "awakens" aerobic soil bacteria. They begin to actively process organic residues (left over from previous harvests), releasing nitrogen and other nutrients from them into a form accessible to plants. This allows maximizing the natural potential of the field even with savings on mineral fertilizers.
2. Soil moisture conservation
The spring crust acts as a "wick", drawing moisture from the depths through capillaries. The pass of a rotary harrow destroys this capillary system and creates a 2-3 cm loose layer (soil mulch) on the surface. This layer acts as a thermal insulator and a lid that reliably "seals" winter moisture in the root-bearing horizon, which is critical for the start of spring crops in dry years.
3. Weed destruction
The implement allows for effective weed control without the use of herbicides. The harrow teeth tear out and throw weed seedlings into the air at the "white thread" stage (when the root is still weak). The weed ends up on the surface and dries in the sun, while the cultivated plant (corn, sunflower, soybean), which has a more developed root system, remains unharmed. This is especially relevant for organic farming or when it is necessary to reduce the chemical load on the soil.
Design advantages of the BR-3 rotary harrow
The high reliability and durability of the implement are ensured by the use of premium materials and reinforced rolled metal, which is atypical for small-width harrows. In the case of the BR-3 model specifically, this is essentially the central three-meter section from our six-meter implements with all their strength advantages. In addition, the frame has special mounting "ears" for extending "wings", which allows upgrading the BR-3 harrow to a 6-meter version when expanding the farm.
- Load-bearing frame beam: Profile pipe 140x140x8 mm (Steel 09G2S)
- Working organ (tooth): Specially processed (forged/stamped) Steel 45
- Connecting elements: Sheet 16-20 mm (plasma cut)
- Fasteners: High-strength bolts (strength class 10.9)
- Bearing unit: Closed, maintenance-free (analogue 53032RS/33003, Bulgaria)
- Operator protection: Special protective screen (mesh) on the frame to protect the cab from flying clods and stones
- Working organ suspension: Individual spring-loaded with the possibility of stepped adjustment of ground pressure
The use of a powerful pipe with a cross-section of 140x140 mm with a wall thickness of 8 mm creates a structural safety margin that guarantees the absence of frame deformations. The working organs are made by forging/stamping from Steel 45, which gives them high resistance to wear and impact loads. The implement has a universal hitch, allowing it to be hooked up both to standard pins of a three-point system and to auto-hitch devices.
Advantages over classic tine harrows (BZSS)
For a farmer accustomed to working with traditional tine harrows (like BZSS), switching to the rotary hoe BR-3 provides a fundamental difference in tillage quality:
- Preservation of stand density
A classic harrow works by "dragging", tearing out both weeds and crop plants with its teeth (losses can reach 10-15%). A rotary harrow works by "piercing" - the tooth enters vertically and exits with a twist. This allows destroying the weed but bypassing the same rooted corn or soybean, reducing crop damage to a minimum (less than 1%). - Work on a littered field
The BR-3 does not get clogged with plant residues, unlike a conventional harrow, which quickly turns into a "rake" and starts pushing a pile in front of itself. - Productivity
The implement allows working at high speeds, which makes it possible to close moisture in time even on small areas in a short period.
Investment in the rotary harrow BR-3 is economically justified even for small farms. Preserving crop density, which usually suffers when using outdated tine harrows, allows recouping the cost of the implement within the first season of operation. The transition to rotary tillage technology minimizes crop losses and allows maximizing the potential of limited sowing areas without the need for powerful tractor equipment.
Aggregation and logistics of the rotary harrow BR-3 from Zavod Moroza
The BR-3 model is the lightest in the line, so it is ideal for working with small traction class tractors (0.9–1.4), such as T-40, UMZ-6, MTZ-80/82 and their imported analogues with a power from 40 hp. The implement allows tillage at recommended speeds of 15–20 km/h, quickly covering areas even with low-power equipment. Thanks to the 3-meter working width, the harrow fits into transport dimensions in the mounted state, allowing free movement between distant plots without the need for disassembly or the use of special devices.
Advantages of buying a rotary harrow at Zavod Moroza
Cooperation directly with the factory opens access to industrial quality and technologies unavailable to "garage" manufacturers. Our enterprise owns a full production cycle, including its own steel foundry for housing parts and a powerful forging section. It is here that the working teeth of the harrow are made by forging from special steel 45, which necessarily undergo a thermal hardening process. Such treatment gives the metal exceptional strength and wear resistance, guaranteeing that the working organs will withstand impacts and abrasive friction significantly longer than conventional analogues.
We understand that every owner has their own requirements for equipment, so the factory's production capabilities allow us to be flexible. In addition to serial production, we are ready to fulfill individual orders, taking into account your wishes regarding the design, configuration, dimensions, or painting of the implement. We also care about your convenience by maintaining a full warehouse stock of all components. By choosing Zavod Moroza, you invest in proven quality and get a reliable partner for the stable development of your farm.
